The coffee table is a multifunctional piece of furniture with many design features. The CROSSBOARDER series was designed by Esben Pilgaard Jørgensen for MAKE nordic in 2022. The design is geometric and has a sharp expression that is well thought out and ultra sustainable. The practical construction and the simple design means that the tables can last for many years.
New - now also in oak
As something completely new, the architect-designed tables are now also handmade from certified oak veneer. The oak comes from Northern Germany, and the versatile tables are handmade for you in Northern Jutland at a Danish furniture factory. Veneer is a very strong material. The CROSSBOARDER tables are treated with water-based varnish, so that the surface becomes extra resistant and is easy to maintain when you use them in everyday life.
With its classic expression, the tables fit into most Nordic homes. The versatile piece of furniture can be used by the sofa as one or more coffee tables or side tables. It is also perfect as a bedside table, a small stool in the entrance hall or as a sculptural outlet in the bathroom or in the dressing room. If you choose to use Crossborder together with your modular sofa, the edge of the table can be pushed in between the modules as an integrated coffee table.
SUSTAINABLE SHIPPING AND PACKAGING
CROSSBOARDER is shipped as a flat pack. We can thus pack over 7 times as many products on one pallet and save 50% of the packaging. This significantly minimizes CO2 emissions during transport, and it saves space in the warehouse and facilitates handling for both you and the freight forwarder.
Really from Kvadrat is a hard material that is perfect for table tops and furniture. The basic material used is made of white work clothes. Therefore, the plates are white with small charming “beauty flaws” and niches that originate from marks on the clothes. Really is produced in a Danish factory that does not use dyes, water or toxic chemicals in the manufacturing process. And only recyclable waste is generated.
Esben Pilgaard Jørgensen
Esben became interested in craftsmanship and production from birth, when he grew up in a blacksmith family in North Jutland, where he himself is the fifth generation.
As a child, he had his daily routine in the large forging workshop, where both father, uncle and grandfather worked. At a very early age, Esben gained an in-depth knowledge of the craft and metalworking in general. And a budding creative urge arose.
Esben has a degree in Industrial Design from Aalborg University and has founded Pilgaard Design Studio.
Today, he is behind a large number of designs in both furniture and lamps, where quality and craftsmanship play a crucial role. The result is characterized by long-lasting, minimalist and classic designs.
