The Oblique wall lamp was designed in 1979 by the danish designer Tom Stepp. In celebration of the Oblique series 40 year anniversary, the “Oblique Brass” collection was introduced. The wall lamp is made in a timeless and elegant design, and the on/off switch is placed on the shade, which makes it easy to operate.

A series of lamps by Tom Stepp
The Oblique wall lamp is a timeless and elegant lamp with unique details, finish and functionality. The design of the lampshade ensures an asymmetrical and glare-free light. The stylish Oblique stam is originally made of steel, but on the occasion of the Oblique series’ 40th anniversary in 2019, a new model was launched with a tilt and candlestick in solid brushed brass. The brass is treated with a transparent varnish, whereby it remains neat and shiny. The wall lamp is therefore available with both brass and steel. All the lamps are manufactured in Denmark.
The on / off switch is elegantly integrated in the lamp head, which can be tilted and rotated 360 degrees. This makes the Oblique extremely easy to operate and adjust in the desired light direction without having to rummage around on the wall for a switch. Oblique is also available as a matching table lamp and floor lamp. It is the perfect reading lamp and works well on the sofa, armchair and in the office.

Tom Stepp was born in 1950 and is one of the most renowned designers in the country. He has over time won several awards for his strong and functional craftsmanship, which includes the Formland award and the Scandinavian Furniture Award.
He has a wide range of impressive and practical educations, as a building technician, building designer and architect from the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. This background has helped shape his personal expression, which can be best described as modern functionalism.
With this past, he has a solid platform he can work from that provides an exceptional insight into what works on a practical level. Thus, one also sees that the designs that Stepp has developed are varying designs that are “grounded”. At the same time, it is also clear that it has an understated beauty that Scandinavian design is well known for.
Here at MAKE nordic, he is, among other things, behind our PRIMETIME armchair, which is the perfect chair for evening coziness and to share the big moments. He has also designed our UBÆNK, which gives your personal decor at home a real spa feeling.
